Shamim Khan

Shamim, the founder of Khan, Singh, Nsibande Physiotherapy, brings both expertise and passion to her practice. She earned her BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Durban-Westville in 1988, and later completed a Master’s degree in Medical Science, specialising in Sports Medicine, at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine in 2000.

Shamim’s distinguished career includes contributions to both local and international sporting events. She was an integral part of the medical teams at the All Africa Games (Zimbabwe, 1995; Johannesburg, 1999) and the Commonwealth Games (Malaysia, 1998; Manchester, 2002). She also served as the team physiotherapist for the South African women's hockey team in 1999 and 2000. Her expertise was further recognised when she formed part of the medical team at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.

Before establishing her own practice in 1994, Shamim gained valuable experience at Wentworth and King Edward hospitals. Since then, she has been dedicated to providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients in the Glenwood area, as well as at St Augustine’s, Capital, and Entabeni hospitals. Her commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care sets the standard for every physiotherapist who joins her team.
